Privacy & data

What Savour Book keeps, who can see it, and how to take it with you or delete it.

What's stored

  • Your account: email address and the first and last name you give, and the avatar you pick. With Apple or Google, only your name and email are used.
  • Settings: the currency you choose for new visits. Your theme choice stays on this device.
  • Your diary: the visits you log (place, date, dishes, ratings, prices, notes) and the photos you add.
  • Friends & family: who you're connected with, and who you tag on visits.
  • Feedback: anonymous. It isn't linked to your account.

What isn't

  • Photo locations: photos are re-saved without location or camera details before upload. Locations read from photos are only used to find the place, and aren't kept.
  • Receipts: read on your device and never uploaded or kept, unless you add one as a photo yourself.
  • No tracking: no ads, analytics or tracking cookies, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

Who can see it

Only you. People you tag on a visit can see that visit, and nothing else. The people you're connected with see your name and avatar. Your photos are private and shown through links that expire after a few hours.

Services involved

  • Cloudflare hosts the app at savourbook.com. Like any web host it handles your connection; its analytics are turned off.
  • Supabase stores your account, diary and photos.
  • OpenStreetMap receives a location only when you search nearby places or create visits from photos, to look up places there.
  • Apple or Google, only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • jsDelivr delivers the receipt-reading program the first time you scan a receipt. Your receipt isn't sent.

Your controls

Delete my account

Permanently deletes your account, visits, photos, connections and invites. Visits other people logged stay in their diaries, without you on them. This can't be undone.
